YOUTH RECREATION SPECIALIST

General Summary:

The Youth Recreation Specialist is responsible for supporting a robust activity schedule for Morningstar’s youth (boys ages 12-21) with special needs, including autism and complex care needs.  Working closely with the Resident Activity Coordinator, the Recreation Specialist will participate in planning and implementation of a therapeutic and general activities program for the youth encompassing physical, spiritual, and emotional health, as well as provide support to the Workforce Development Program. This position requires the ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including some weekends.

Qualifications: 

  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience with children, residential setting preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Clean background
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
