Youth Mentor Specialist I

General Summary: A youth mentor specialist is responsible for meeting the basic needs of all residents placed under their direct care and supervision. A youth mentor specialist has the ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public. This position requires the ability to develop professional relationships with residents while demonstrating a genuine concern for, understanding of, and willingness to help the resident with their treatment needs. A youth mentor specialist is able to provide structure through the implementation of a daily schedule and remains fair and consistent in their daily interactions with residents. In short, a Mentor & Role Model for kids.

Qualifications:

  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience with children, residential setting preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Clean background
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
